Whether the fall is accidental or intentional, FFH cause significant polytrauma, particularly injury of the musculoskeletal system as patients experience vertical deceleration and direct impact translated through the bones of the axial and appendicular skeleton [4–7]. Spinal cord injury (SCI) from vertebral column burst fractures can cause significant neurological impairment, and even paralysis of the lower extremities.

A detailed comparison with the results coming from the previous literature is shown in Table 6 [1,8,9,11,12,14,18–20,28,30–32]. Table 7 [1,3,7,10,12,14,16,19,20,22,23,28–31,33] is a focus about the skull: in the present study, the skull was injured in 54.5% of all cases.
